Nature is God’s greatest evangelist ~ Jonathan Edwards.
My mission is to share what my creator Jesus Christ has created for us to enjoy and marvel over. The whole creation reflects His nature and His attributes.
“the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying, “Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.” ~ Revelation 4:10-11
I am a native Kiwi from Otaki who now lives in Upper Hutt, just north of Wellington. With that in mind, I run photography workshops in the lower North Island. I spent much of my early years roaming around the Te Urewera National Park in the central North Island of New Zealand and the Tararua ranges north of Wellington as a hunter and fur trapper. As a result, wilderness and wildlife photography was a natural progression from my hunting background.
I was fascinated by the beauty of nature in the wilderness and began photography in my late twenties. Consequently, I want to share these precious landscapes and wildlife with others. From the stunning rata and majestic rimu trees to the rugged peaks of the Tararuas.
The elaborate dances and colours of birds, to the last rays of golden sunlight on the Tasman Sea.
I strive to excel at my craft. Because of this, I’m continually inspired by the gifts and talents of others in this field. I hope my work reflects this in every image I take. Furthermore, I wish to bring to the viewer not only beautiful photos but also the moods and emotions that are attached to them. It’s my passion to share my knowledge and adventures with others. Therefore helping fellow photographers discover all the potential they have.
What I Believe
The bond between photographers is a unique one. Accordingly, it seems to be long term in most cases. Those who share the love of the same gifts and talents seem to form close lasting friendships. Although it can bring out the best and worst in people. In the end, it’s simply up to us to choose the way we respond to others, their work and attitudes. Other people’s work inspires me by choice. Hence it never ceases to amaze me to see the gifts that other people possess. If you have a passion for photography you will never tire of the amazing world around you. Just look closer and shoot smaller.
My passion is to help my fellow photographers realize their full potential. Furthermore, I also want to help you get the best out of your equipment. As a result I offer a wide range of tutoring classes, tours and workshops covering both the art of landscape and wildlife photography. Similarly, I tutor on how to make good use of the digital development tools such as Lightroom and Photoshop.
Finally here’s my personal wish … If you attend one of my workshops, share a journey across the mountains or even an evening on the computer learning Photoshop, < you’ll gain some newfound skills and knowledge. As a result, you’ll become a better photographer. But not only that you’ll also take home a long-lasting friendship!
