About Boney

Wilderness and wildlife photography was a natural progression from my hunting background
I was fascinated by the beauty of nature and the wilderness and began photography in my late twenties. I want to share these precious landscapes and the wildlife with others.  From the stunning  rata and majestic rimu trees, rugged peaks of the tararuas,  playful antics of seals,  elaborate dances and colours of birds to the last rays of golden sunlight on the Tasman sea. .

I strive to excel at my craft and am continually inspired by the gifts and talents of other’s in this field.  I hope my work reflects this in every image I take.  I wish to bring to the viewer not only beautiful photos, but the moods and emotions that are attached to them.
It is my passion to share my knowledge and adventures with others helping fellow photographers discover all the potential they have. I also want to help you get the best out of your equipment by offering a wide range of tutoring classes, tours and workshops covering both the art of landscape and wildlife photography as well as how to make good use of the digital development tools such as Lightroom and Photoshop.
The bond between photographers is unique and can form close lasting friendships between those who share the love of the same gifts and talents. If you have a passion for photography, you will never tire of the amazing world around you……… just look closer and shoot smaller.

What I believe.
The bond between photographers is a unique one and seems to be long term in most cases. It can bring out the best and worst in people, in the end its simply up to us to choose the way we respond to others, their work and attitudes. I choose to be inspired by other peoples work and it never ceases to amaze me to see the gifts that other people possess.I also belive if you love photograhpy you will never be bored ,you just look closer and shoot smaller.

Mission statement

My passion is to help my fellow photographers realize their full potential by offering a wide range of tutoring classes, tours and workshops covering both the art of landscape and wildlife photography as well as how to make good use of the digital development tools, Lightroom and Photoshop.

My personal wish is that should you attend one of my workshops, share a journey across the mountains or a night on the computer learning Photoshop, you will take home a long lasting friendship and some new found skills and knowledge that will enable you to be a better photographer.
